FINAL EVENT OF THE SEASON! 09/02/24 Night Kayak on Mission Bay Under Fireworks + Possible Bioluminescence

  We have had an amazing time out on the water every time we have gone out kayaking with Kayak Joe SD. I feel safe and can just enjoy the... expand scenery from a different perspective.

It's priceless to experience something for the first time, and I suggest going out to REALLY see some fireworks because seeing it from a kayak near under them is like seeing them for the first time and really puts to shame any other time you've ever seen a show. (Historically and in the future.. seriously set the bar high, prepare to be disappointed seeing them in any other way than in a kayak in the bay..)

Joe provides everything you need to get going, all you need is yourself in some clothes that you've accepted will get wet, and a will to paddle your lil heart out.

10/10, recommend often, have been multiple times, will go again, looking forward to other kayaking events with Kayak Joe SD.

  My family took a night kayak tour with Joe and had a blast! He was super helpful with tips, yet laidback enough that he was one of our party... expand on the night of the fireworks. The perfect balance - NO PUN INTENDED!
Seeing the fireworks directly overhead was unlike any other show.

  I went kayaking for the first time ever with Joe yesterday and it was such an amazing experience! Joe brings his expertise as an instructor and has a way of... expand making you feel very comfortable right away. You're provided with the works: kayaks, gloves, lifejackets, water, waterproof phone cases, and instruction on paddling and maneuvering. We got to see the last fireworks of the summer super close up, from basically right underneath them, and we even got to see bioluminescence in the ocean! Our group had such great energy and our trip was filled with laughter and great conversation. The experience was equal parts adventure, fun, and magic. I can't recommend it enough. Thanks, Joe!

  I love this business! Kayak Joe SD is friendly and helpful and put my mind at ease as a non-swimmer. He provides waterproof phone cases, water bottles, and life jackets.... expand The kayaks are two seaters. Great even if you have never kayaked before as was the case with myself and a few others. I have now kayaked with Joe 4 times. My friend and I even purchased our own life jackets as we plan to go again and again. You meet at Ski Beach, tells you basics, and offers to attach your kayak to his and row you to shore in case of emergency. He's a great group leader and you kayak to the fireworks location and there's even time to paddle around the bay for a bit before the show. Then the fireworks launch right above you. First time my friend rowed backwards, that's how close we were. It's so beautiful. I posted our first video and you can hear our reactions. On last night kayak, I dropped my AirPods into the bay and Kayak Joe went above and beyond, offering to scuba and look for them the following morning and that he did for HOURS! They were in a waterproof case and had a carabiner so I felt safe but am learning the ways of the water. Because of Joe, I feel very comfortable and safe on a kayak now and am even looking into getting a kayak myself soon. He allows you to join at no cost if you bring your own kayak.
